March 24th, 2020
These days the Corona virus or Covid 19 is making its effects felt all over the world. On our families, on our way of life and on how we work and on our collective sport. We sincerely hope that each and all of you, both as individuals as well as within your families and friends, remain untouched by this virus, and that its impact on your lives remains as small as possible.
Due to the rapid and as yet uncontrollable spread of this virus, the FCI Flyball Commission together with the Organizing Committee of the Belgian Flyballdogs vzw unfortunately have no other option than to announce that the Flyball Open World Cup 2020 will not be held in Lommel on the scheduled dates of May 23rd and 24th of this year. After thorough consideration it was decided to postpone the entire event by one year and announcing that the second Flyball Open World Cup will not be held in “De Souverein” in Lommel, Belgium this year but at the same venue from May 15th through 16th, 2021.
As soon as possible we will work out the practical details about the entries, possible withdrawals of entries and replacements for these withdrawals. The refunding of payments already made as well as all further matters and situations caused by this postponement till next year.
Although we are aware of the difficulties, sacrifices and consequences which the organising committee’s decision to postpone the FOWC presents to the Flyball community we have come to the realisation that at present this decision is the best solution to serve our communities, ourselves and our dogs.
On behalf of the organizing committee of the Flyball Open World Cup I wish you all a very good health and express the committee’s wishes to see you all in May 2021.
Further updates, as and when we have them, will be issued on our official social media channels and website.
